I like the design, thats the only reason. I will not use these for track-days so weight is not that big issue. Will need to find something else to use on track.

Gave my rocker cover and spark plug cover some attention today. I had removed the paint a while ago but today i sanded it and applied a few thin coats of grey primer, AMG cover was also painted satin black. Didnt have time to do the rocker cover.

I haven decided if i should sand it down or paint the bars and text with silver. Perhaps i should try to paint it using a fine brush, and then a few coats of matte clear laquer?

If you can paint like van Gogh, make it with the fine brush.
However, is a lot work, or you can varnish it maybe with a role?
Sand much easier goes
Afterwards paint a matte clear lacquer, otherwise get dirty metall very fast

Recieved this from VEMS in Hungary today, well suprised of the quality of the harness, it actually comes in three parts, main harness, relay and fuse part, and injector parts, all parts are detachable. Makes it a lot easier when removing the engine. Notice the thick rubber grommet on the large part of the harness, will make a good tight seal through the firewall.

Bitte so weitermachen :thumbright:

Nette Grüße

Small update, waiting for two big parcels late next week. Anyway ordered a set of Goodridge hoses from Ebay, very cheap £44.

Also picked up a water temp sensor from Bosch, there like £13 new. These are fitted to many BMWs but i think they are more expensive if you go to a BMW dealership instead of as i did go to a local auto parts store. The funny thing is that Bosch Motorsport also list this particular sensor on their webpage (http://www.bosch-motorsport.de/pdf/sens ... TC_M12.pdf).

alve cover and AMG spark plug finally done, satin black with a few layers of satin clear coat

Bild

Trial fitted covers and ITBS with manifold, bit worried that the carbon airbox might not clear the brake booster.

Hi, as an newby i can only say: good job!!

do you also replace the mainbrake calliper for an evo version? the diameter is larger. ( i think)
And did you put higher compression pistons in the engine?
And what cams are you using?
Sorry for al the questions, but i am really interrested.
Because going to do exact the same ,when i'am recovered from my back fracture. only with an 1984 16v version but with an 1989 2.5 16V donor
With an hagmann inlet manifold!!! so i'am also very interrested in the carbon airbox.!

Hello Heino, i havent changed the brake booster for the EVO version, i will try with the stock 16v.

Piston are around 11.3 in compression, and con rods (pleuel) are forged from Volvo B230 Turbo engine.

Im looking forward seeing pictures from your own project, hope you recover soon from your back injury!

valve cover is pretty nice... like to have the same.
i m guessing also that you might face space issues with the airbox.
u might have to go for a smaller brake booster, reroute the brake line of front achsle circuit to the left side of the master cylinder and plug the right side. or you have to modify the airbox...
anyway, nice build, can't wait to see the next steps...
