The 185HP 190E had a unique piston and shorter connecting rod to produce a higher compression 185hp by means of a 98 octane requirement of fuel.

Can you share with us what the part numbers are?

For the con rod I got this 1020300120 and for the piston 1020306319 . But am just inferring from the footnotes at the parts catalog. Is this right? Any other modifications one must do?


uhh good question, i think some engine guru in this forum can answer those things better than me (a freind of mine did the rebuild of my engine)

Next step will be a new set of Pistons, "H" beam connecting rods and more agressive camshafts :)

Does anyone know how agressive i could go with the camshafts ? 288 or 296 ?

Nice update and amazing Car !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the stock - pedal, can you brake with "heal and toe" !!!

Do you know hoy many PS do you get with the new pipercross sistem and the EFI ?

I still have the green ones in the garage :)

first a small overhaul and new H type piston rods and it looks like it will get some extra breathing help from a small kompressor ;)

Thanks , i thought the orange would fit better with the lights and the blinkers :)

I dont have any figures on paper but a guess its around 200-210hp, this coming from edging out the 2.5-16 with a small marginal and some other cars with about that amount of horsepower but that is just a guess...

Unfortunately a small change of plans, as i am now moving to Köln permanently it will take some time until there will be time and money to invest in the car, the first thing is to find a garage for it here in germany and to bring it down so i can use it and visit some of the meetings :) , then next winter hopefully i can continue with the engine upgrades...
