Hello. I'm Pentti from Luxembourg.
I bought my 190e a few months ago from Perl Germany. Its from 84 with 280000km on the clock.
It was in a poor condition, unrestored and needed a LOT of welding at every corner.
After welding and massive ammounts TLC. I passed the technical control with it and now Its time to start the Evolution 1 project!

-This is when I bought it: (didn't pay that sticker price for it  )

Erst Herzlich willkomen bei uns :)

Mach das nicht bitte, die Umbau, es ist ein Kultauto 84er ECE!

Besser kaufen ein 190e und denn umbauen ;)

(welcome to our Forum, but please dont do EVO Kit it is a cult car from its first production year. For a Evo project better buy a 190e and then make out of it an EVO)

MfG
Shaq

Thanks shaq!
The thing with this one is that the outer/inner fenders are badly corroded at the back, below the plastic trims on the arches so anyway it would be chopping time. But I appreciate the thought! :)

Welcome to the 16V Forum Pentti :-D
A 84 ECE vehicle is very rare.
The color is very nice and fits well with the early vehicles.
I see it as shaq, consider whether you really want to rebuild the vehicle.
Of course is just a recommendation from me .... is your decision.

Have fun with the 16V 8)

Considering the amount of work and TLC you still have to do to this car, the better and even more valuable result is a well restored 1984 ECE - and not another FEVO, who's monetary value is near to nothing compared with the effort needed to build it.

On the other hand: just do it!
This will guarantee the value of my 1984 ECE :)

regards
Christian

I would not do the evo mod if the car would be in mint condition. this car has been neglected for well over 10 years!
My plan is to drive it as a part time trackday car next season on the track days we organise: http://www.superlapbattle.lu/

Thanks.
I will start the conversion in a few weeks, I will post it all here.
The quality of the parts is very good, so far, must be one of the best kits available.

the quality of the kit is exellent the painter also appreciated the quality.
I broke the phone with the build pictures but the kit is fairly easy to intall.

-shorten front bumber according to the new front lip 1st to see where the new front fender flare lands on the fender
-cut front fender according the new fender flare leaving space for mount bolts and drill holes for fender flare
-shorten front fender plastic panel
-cut back fender outside skin according the fender flare leaving space for mount bolts
-cut back fender inner wheel well at the most outer edge leaving material that will be folded to match the new fender line and then weld them together and drill holes for fender flare
-install rear bumper and rear bumper fwd flare extensions according to the new back fender flare. minimal grinding needed on the front of rear bumper
-install new rear spoiler. the holes are matching with old spoiler mount holes
-the front shock absorbers need to be short ones from H&R competition or Yellow star racing (even cup kit "short absorbers" are too long). im using sl500 springs cutted to fit with reinforced upper spring mounts + r129 topmounts
-the front wheel wells need to be widened at the fwd alot otherwise the wheels wont turn free (cutting + hammering)

Season start trackday at chambley -france was awesome! Oil, water, brakes stayed cool, only little problem was the tire clearance at the front so it was scrubbing on the inner wheel arches.
