Hi,
Testing to see if they would be any Interest.
I am thinking of changing my Engine and Gearbox
But would like to keep the Car due to all the work
that has gone into it to suspension, steering etc..
The specs are ---
2.5 16v engine converted to single row Chain.
Engine is converted to semi dry reversed Sump
with Direct Oil pick up, so that the sump
pan can be easily and quickly removed, but it can be easily
converted back to a std 2.5 front mounted sump
but retain the direct oil pick up to the Oil Pump.
I run a Manual Quick ratio steering Rack, No Box,
so the sump has to be at the rear]
Block is Bored to 96mm running 11.75 Cr Pistons with
lite Cadmium Wrist Pins [half the weight of 2.5 ones]
and using Pankl 157.4mm EDM rods and Pankl Rod Bolts.
[Pankl Rods are 495 grms with bolts]
Crank is 80.25mm hardened and complete bottom
end was blue printed and balanced to within 0.5 grm.
Uprated bearings have been used in both the B/E and mains.
Head has Intake ports Ported out to 32mm and funnelled
with std size valves running uprated dual valve springs
with lightly ported and polished exhausts, cut back,
to match genuine B&H 4-1 DTM Header.
Intake is BMW S54 50mm ITB's converted and matched to
Mercedes 2.5 intake with the BMW airbox trumpets fitted
into a BTCC race car carbon airbox.
Cams are 11.6mm lift optimised.
Engine runs at 5.25 Bar fuel pressure.
Also runs Coil on Plug using the VW Beru coil packs.
ECU/ DME is a Canems fully mappable which is
like VEMS, DTA 40, etc. and comes with all the Firmware
the CD discs and PC with the maps all loaded etc.
It can be live mapped has storage for 3 maps which can
be changed on the fly.
Gearbox is a 6 Speed from a W203 300 diesel and
gives nice close ratios from 2nd to 5th with 6th
acting like a motorway Gear.
In that it has the hydraulic centre bearing with
the shorter throw changes are short an crisp.
G/Box is rated to 400nm.
Std 16v Flywheel has been lightened by 4 kgs and
a uprated Clutch Ceramic Disc is fitted to a std
16v Cover plate.
[will included the front half of the propshaft as the
W203 G/Box runs a very large gearbox output flange
and much larger Rubber guibio.]
This would all then fit onto a std 16v rear.
Diff not included is a 3.07 LSD but a 2.9 maybe
better if used as a road car etc.
Would also include the complete stainless steel custom exhaust
system which is single 75mm pipe running dual
silencers and is fitted with the 02 sensor for the
ECU set back so as to obtain a more consistent O2
reading as the gases are a little cooler further back.
Engine since rebuild has completed just under a
1000 miles and makes a conservative 270 BHP.
Would be looking for around 8500.00 for the complete
set up etc.
Reason for selling, even though it has been quite a
mission to complete, now its done it not quite
where I wanted to be, so seeing if there is any
interest etc.
