Yes its Jacks car, its great looking. I have the same wheels as Jack. Compomotive TH1180 18x8". His are actually Compomotive too and not OZ as the stickers says.

trial fitted my front wings and arches today, and i put on a 225/40 tyre on one of the new wheels. Still having huge arch gap, almost 7cm between arch lip and tyre. Tried with the thinnest spring rubbers but that only took it doown about 0.5cm.

Im not sure if there any differences between the Evo and the 16v when it comes to wheels suspension, a-arms are the same, SLS-system is the same as used on the 16v. cups for springs are the same.

Anyone have an idea? Looking at the Jacks car he too have a rather large gap.

if you fill in all liquids and insert the battery, as well as the bumper install, then the level to certainly still drop?

as norbert texted already, wait until the car is finished, it's better like that instead of to low.
the 18" wheels might rub in the wheel housing if too low since you don't have the bigger evo wheel housings, if not put some lowering springs in the car...

yes it might get a bit lower when its all finished. I have H&R motorsport springs now, (320nm/mm 220nm/mm), and its lowered about 50mm. Springs are brand new, and it will probably "sink" when i take for a first test drive.

Rouven036, do you know of any EVO owners that have removed the full sls and replaced with lowering springs and new dampers?

sls shocks on EVOs are shorter than on normal 16v

Ok, but does it still use the springs and dampers as the full SLS option on 16v?

no i don't, but most probably somebody has done it.
have you removed the tension of the control arm bushings after the install of the springs, this will give u another few mm. usually it will be done with the wheel alignment after the install....

springs are the same as on normal 16v only dampers are with shorter body and also with shorter travel (different piston and channels inside). Gas reservoirs on dampers are the same (look at EPC)

you can lower it with control arms but if piston inside dampers hits top few times it will be damaged. Better find evo dampers.

EVO that was crashed which Maisterjager was selling in parts had normal suspension (not SLS) so better ask him for details...

I have H&R motorsport dampers on now, and i guess those fit the evo to.

Fredrik helped me out with the arch kit, it required some filliing to get it spot on. Both bumper and the sacco bits on the front wings needed to be cut, alot...



In this picture you can clearly see how much shorter the EVO 1 bumper is, its the stock 16v bumper sticking out in the background

Spent a couple of hours in the garage today, fredrik continued sanding the arches , and after a two hours we are both well pleased with the result, it really got that OEM look now. Front wings, arches and splitter is pretty much ready for paint now.

Here we are removing the arches again, Fredrik is sanding down the last rough bits,

Thank you for the comments, what im still a bit worried is the ride height. I need to lower it at least 3cm more. So if anyone know if there are any differences between the front axle of the 16v and Evo, please let me know, if would be much appreciated.

Time for the rear arche, sort of. Just lining them up to see how they fit

Tight fit with the 16v kit on, it does however stay clear of the arch,


With the EVO kit the arch itself is move about 5 cm from the 16v


The splitter now fits perfect, we bolted it with 3 screws today, but ill sort
the rest of them this weekend
