Hello everybody,

My name is Alex. I live near Boston, Massachusetts in the United States. I have owned two 190e 16v cars now but unfortunately I don't have one at the moment. I sold mine to buy a house last year. I am hoping to buy another this winter.

I thought that I would post to say hello. I've been reading this forum for two years now and I tried to sign up but it was not validated until today for some reason.... perhaps an issue with my poor German reading skills.

I am hoping to build a car for track days that I can drive to events. I also have a race car that I campaign throughout the year in both hillclimb and at the circuit. It's a Lancer Evolution II.

Here are some photos of my last car and the work I did to it. I'm glad to be here.

Alex

Chris,

Sorry I can't reply in German. The engine will spin to about 7000 but as you can see on the dyno graph, the power falls off much earlier.

There are no warning lamps in the German dashboard? Mercedes probably figured that the Americans needed them

:D

die us modelle waren entsprechend gesetzlicher vorschriften leicht unterschiedlich.
dazu gehörten z.b.
- seitenaufprallschutz in den türen
- gepolsterte prallschiene am amaturenbrett fahrerseite
- check engine / o2 sensor kontrolleuchte
- gurt warnleuchte im ki
- orginale us 2,3-16 drehen bis 6500
- scheinwerfer, blinker, rückleuchten
etc.

just explained the rough differences between the us and euro versions..
in the euro models there are also warning lights, mainly the same, but due to some us laws, there has to be some more as:
- belt warning light in icm
- check engine, o2 sensor light

also the knee protector on the driver side dashbord where only to find on the us models...

Very nice, like it a lot. Been to Boston a few times. Friend of mine studied in Providence RI.

Norbert, thanks!

The Evo makes a lot of power : )

No automatic climate control for US 190e. I think that it's a popular modification for US enthusiasts to do. Expensive though...
