Instruments problems

Beitragvon JM Motorsport » 20. Jul 2011, 13:42

A few days ago on my way to a trackday, my temp gauge climbed above the red line. I had my laptop plugged into to my VEMS box, which have a seperate temp sensor, and it give just fine readings. So i thought that the temp sensor for my water temp gauge was broken. Bought a new new, no difference.

On my way home, both the oil pressure gauge, voltage gauge and oil temp gauge, went up and down. If the temp gauge went up the pressure gague would go up. Really strange.

We tried another 16v instrument cluster, but same result, so something is wrong with the wiring.

Anyone have any ideas, or a electrical diagram for the 16v?

Hello Mikael,

First i Gould check if the wire of ground on the instrument is ok!
It must be a brown colored wire. Check how high the resistance from the brown wire
to the body of the car. It must be very low!
If it is high you must get a better connection.
