idle problems

Hey.
I have a 2.5-16v
I've had the engine up and renovated it .. Now I have trouble with the engine idling .. I have changed the rotor and distributor cap and spark plugs .. power is being supplied to the spark plug. it works so I wonder if it's running on 3 cylinders. and when I gas up then it goes out. there are some who have tried it before?
