2.5 -16V limited slip differential

Hello members!
I'm looking for days on the internet but I can't find the proper answer. My Mercedes 2.5 16v seems to have a ASD limited slip differential. The ASD relay and wiring loom has been removed by the precious owner(s) so the electric valve is nog working. This should mean the differential should work as a normal 25% LSD. Am I correct?
Now, last I was testing the differential. When I spin one of the rear wheels (car in neutral) The opposite rear wheel spins the other way
Like an open diff. Not quite what I was expecting from a LSD... To be shure I raised the back end, started the engine and let it roll in 1st gear (back wheels in the air). Both rear wheels spin. With a bit of force I was able to block either rear wheel with my bare hands...
When I'm driving in wet conditions I get the impression the diff ectualy transfers torque...
Is this normal? Is the diff completely worn?
Many thanks!
