Mercedes W201 190E 16V EVO

Car was running fine, needed some cranking before it would fire up. But after changing the brake fluid and checkin the plug something really strange happend.

Started it up, and after some cranking it started. Idle was very low, and the idle control valve wouldnt work, tried two differen valves t but still no luck. Took it for a spin and it just wouldnt rev. Seems like its stuck in some kind of limp home mode.Havent touched any engine related today at all. Just tried the fault code diagnostics for the ASD, thats all.

Any ideas what this could be? Going to Hockenheim and Nürburgring ring next week so its quite urgent.

If anyone could translate this into german it would be much appreciated

Der Wagen lief gut, brauchte ein paar Umdrehungen bevor er ansprang. Aber nachdem die Bremssupe gewexelt und die Zündkerzen geprüft wurden, ist irgendwas merkwürziges passiert.

Gestartet und nach ein paar Umdrehungen sprang er an. Leerlauf war sehr niedrig und das Leerlaufventil wollte nicht arbeiten, habe zwei andere ausprobiert, aber kein Glück gehabt. Eine Runde gefahren aber der Motor will nicht hochdrehen. Sieht aus, als wäre er in einer Art Notprogramm gefangen. Ich habe heute überhaupt nichts am Motor angefaßt. Nur die Fehlercodes für das ASD ausgelesen, das war's.

Irgendwelche Ideen, was das sein könnte? Ich will nächste Woche nach Hockenheim und zum Nürburgring, habe also etwas Druck.

ok, if you haven't touched anything else (shall I believe that? customers allways tell, I haven't touched nothing! but of course they have...) check the spark wires.

Check them for correct fit, if the cable is tight in the plug and check the them for correct order, means cable 1 on spark plug 1 and on.

It was the usual faulty OVP relay, but now it works fine again.

Not, it still wont pull away when in gear. It wont idle very anymore and stalls all the time.

Im seems to be fuel related, i tried to change the fuel pressure sensor for a standard 2.3-8v yesterday and it pulls away better, but idle is still very jumpy and it keeps stalling, will try a proper 16v sensor today.

We are leaving for Hockenheim tomorrow, hopefully

How's your cam timing ?
