Have spent a little time working it over to make it pass our TUV.
Indeed...the work as payed off,and by now it´s a remarkably well running car...even with the KE i installed.
Now..when i bought the car the ASD lamp didn´t work and so on...
When i got under it,the "reglerstange" for the height adjustment valve was broken, and some idiot had strapped it back on in false position with common steel wire just to make it stay in place i guess.
So...picked a new one up and installed it.
After i did...i´ve had a pulsating force in the hydraulic system of the car that makes this "ploing" sound for every cycle it goes through,so..i thought that it would be air trapped somewhere OR that the adjustment valve was broken(spring loaded "uberdruck ventil" for instance).
So..i changed the reglerventil without any change in beaviour of the car/sound.
Funny thing is that the rear suspension works just as it should and the ride is as good as it´s supposed to be.
Now,both the automatic gearbox and the rear axle are mercedes "tauch aggregate",and somewhere along the line the idiot that installed the hydraulic pistons for the ASD installed the passenger side one in the wrong direction making the air nipple point backwards/downwards.
This of course means that it has been impossible to get air out of the ASD system.
So..i bridged pole 8 and 10 in the ASD relay socket after having made up a new hardline for the hydraulic cylinder of the passenger side..and went for the air nipple...and out came...nothing.
Turned out that one of the hardlines was full of dirt.
So..assembled it all again..hit the airnipple...and VOILA...oil.
Down the car came...out the door..."ploing,ploing,ploing...."
Ok.
So..back in the shop with teh car again..and hoisted the rear of it up in the air.
Unhooked the "reglerstange" and de-areated the system according to the book this time.
"Regler fullen...regler leeren"...for approx a couple of minutes at each end...
Nope..still that sound..
So..bridged the ASD relay socket again...and...
Here´s the funny thing.
When in "fullen" the sound goes away.
..and with the ASD socket bridged..it goes DEAD SILENT.
Ok..now..the system was silent..so..down the car came, and out the door..
I´m a happy camper...and...ONE hard hit on the brakes..."ploing,ploing,ploing..."
GAAAAAAAHHHAAAAAAAAA!!!!

Now..the thing is...when i bought the car the ASD lamp at the instrument was disconnected.
I connected it again..and the whole thing worked, just this sound.
Now...now you can make the ASD lamp light up by simply mashing the throttle hard!!! IN NEUTRAL!!!
Tomorrow i´m going to take the " ASD magnetventil" down that´s behind the front right tire...take it apart as far as i can to see what´s at fault, because it HAS to be something within it that it acting up!!!
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as i´m trying to get to understand this SLS/ASD stuff..
