The Maki project

I´m gettin to the point where it´s time for startup...bit by bit.
Meaning that tomorrow i´l hopefully have the engine up and running on the new intake and the VEMS system.

..and if all goes well that means that i can start emphasizing the turbo side of it all

So far..we´ve at least got oilpressure.

MSD box is connected and seems to work.Distributor is in.Ign coil hooked up.All the wiring is done out in the engine compartment.

What´s left is tiny stuff.
Hooking the VEMS box per se up,wiring of the tachometer..stuff like that.
Then it´s startup time

On a more serious note Maki...it´s starting to look good.
As in real good.
Fact is,i seldom end up satisfied...but this time..i´ll be damned.
Of course there´s details..always are...but the general impression..

Just hope that VK has done their part of it and that no ills will show its ugly face as we start her up.

Although for now running without any exhaust system,she at least runs.
For the first time...in a long time

No ills at all so far...simply runs.
Now..time for the turbo setup per se..to make the little engine look like Hindenburg...

So..intercooler,all of its brackets and what have you is done.
Basicaly what remains to be fabbed is the exhaust hedder and downpipe to mate up with the exhaust system.

Buuut...it being stainless steel...it takes more time than one thinks.
However,project is coming along just fine and it...simply looks thought through and runs well.

Well Maki...you asked for it to be "none bling"..and this is what we came up with.
Looks WAYYYYYYY better IRL as you´ll soon discover..

None the less..



Intercooler.Made to fit,and fits like a damn glove.When you walk up to the car the cooler is the last thing you notice really!!



Another view ..and as can be seen the cooler really "disappears".
As you can also see the exhaust hedder is taking shape by the day.



Intercooler with pressure piping,throttle return spring and brackets,intake air temp sensors aso.

As you can see...we´re getting there

General impression is that the whole setup looks thought through.No frills,no "bullshit"...just plain business to rock hard...

Again though...it looks a TON better in real life..the impact as you come close to the engine bay is downright....rock n roll...it looks REALLY business...

ALL "details"(like bolts,worm clamps aso)are stainless steel.
The whole thing breathes of an orgie in stainless and semigloss black.

Hey Jesper du alter Zauberschrauber,

das sieht doch alles schon verdammt gut aus ...langsam werde ich ein wenig neidisch

Vielleicht können wir beim Hockenheimtreffen auch bei mir auf die Schnelle ein Turbolein anflanschen....damit ich auf der Bahn nicht so alt gegen den Griechen ausschau

Jesper mach weiter mit dem Griechenprojekt, das wird echt geil
