Me..at 2 o clock in the morning against a Toyota MR2 with a HYSTERICAL turbocharged SAAB 16V engine on E85 fuel.
A claimed dynoed 530hp and approx 1000kg weight.

How it all turned out when the smoke had cleared?
Guess

Racing by Night

A short movie would be cool. ;)
Ah a skyline, I know some ppl who are just talking about this bunch of plates.
It should be the best Car, with sooo many PS, some should have >1.200 PS.
But they never told me, how long the engine lives.

But I'd like to see your race as a movie, do you have one (or some)?

To make you understand the swedish street racing scene it´s imperative to understand that we have the possibilty to "register" cars in different levels of modification that most the rest of europe don´t.(With england as an exception)

Apart from bone stock cars we´re allowed to register cars as "umbau" or "amatuer" built.
This has also left a vaccum where tuned/souped up cars simply are run as they come-without ever reaching any state inspection from that respect.
Ie;you can run into a 800PS supra on the street,a pro-street built camaro asf.
My old friend Robert Pothorcky´s 1000PS GMC syclone(worlds fastest at the moment)is completely street legal around here.
The do it yourself attitude is within the swedish soul to be blunt.
Sometimes for the better, sometime for the worse-as everone can´t be an expert.

Hence why one of the contenders at the illegal gotheburg nightmare race was a Toyota MR2 with an insanely built SAAB turbo engine on alcohol.
Likewise..my old friends Jonas and KGs insane Opel Ascona with a rail chassis and a completely bombed out/turboed Volvo 16V engine.
They´re...still street legal.
The list just goes on.

The R32 and R33 skylines indeed is mostly hype.
The silver one in the pics is an imported car(from Japan) with a claimed massive amount of power.

To be blunt, that night, the cars that REALLY hauled ass was yours truly, the Toyota and the blue BMWE30-that sports a souped over old 745 engine with a MUCH larger turbo.
Sadly tho,we all threw in the towel due to technical walk over.
In my case it was the clutch pressure plate that F.ed up in the semi finals.

There are a couple of videos floating around the net,but when it´s illegal there´s mostly pictures as these can be edited for license plates.
This weeked the "bomb" illegal race of the year is on the agenda.
The gothenburg open.

This for instance, which is a tuned 944 turbo,is basically a slaughter lamb at these occasions.

So I can tell them to F.off with their skyline? :P
If you can get, or have any vid to show us, and need some space, leave me a PM.

Anyways:
Very interesting. More of that...

__________

Hi Racing

What's with your time "0-100km?"

@Raa
I honestly have no idea.
Then..in my case it is VERY much a question of traction.
On slicks..?..3 to 3,5 seconds maybe.
Streetradials..a guess would be in the 4-4,5 second bracket.

Nagi.
Doesn´t work that way.
I can drive MY swedish car basically anywhere-as long as it´s ME (or another swedish resident)behind the steering wheel.

As far as Maki..let´s just say that him and his friend georgio has been in the pass seat of my car more than once by now.
Last night..we even raced a bike-with us three on board-out on the freeway.
Out of some reason..the grin he´s carrying around seems to be hard to get rid of.
I´ve taken them to see LEGAL swedish streetracing today, and later tonite..(um 11 uhr) it time for the illegal variety..

@Breity.
Thanx man.
We´ve been at it at this end as well.Had a friend over that works on "steuerketten" to see what can be done.Future will tell.
