DTM engine question

If not,could one of you guys maybe ask Lothar of ATEC?
As we´ve gathered mercedes ran a different layout on the DTM engines than they did on the stock motors.
As far as we´ve understood they ran without the distributor gear and the lower slave gear under the intake gear in the head.
