Der 2,3er hat doch die gleiche bohrung, da nehm ich an das die kolben ca. das selbe wiegen wie die vom 2,5er. wenn es nich sogar die selben sind. Fragezeichen?
Auf jeden fall sind die sicher zu schwer.
Sogar die 16er in der DTM haben so viel ich weiss nur bis 10000 gedreht.
Die durch den Hubraum und die Vierzylinderbauart verhältnissmäßig grossen kolben waren einfach zu schwer für mehr drehzahlen. deswegen hat alfa so abgeräumt. die hatten ja gleich was um die 450PS, da sechszylinder. Die hamm viel höher gedreht.
Und wie uns allen bekannt ist holt ein Saugmotor seine Leistung durch Drehzahlen.
Also ich bin da sehr skeptisch.

Nah.THey´re similar oils,and work well.
Something we figured out when we went endurance racing.

Metall man.
Be sceptical all you want.:).
Btw.Slugs i use do NOT weigh as do the stockers by a long shot.

No.Correct.

The thing here that sort of makes the equation stand on its head is the boost involved.

See..boost affects the entire engine behaviour as well as how the motor will take care of and handle things like indicated as well as effective pressure aso.
In fact,to such a degree that a 10 000rpm "sauger" will run MORE on the edge than the equivalent turbo motor.
One reason being that the boost inherent will equalize the pressure within the cylinder even as the head is starting to reach its flow maximum and pressure variances will start to show.

10 000rpms isn´t the end of the world anymore,and knowledge indeed strives forward.Not only when it comes to metalurgy,but i´d say across the technical spectrum.

Take combustion chamber tech as an example.Isn´t all that long ago that the technical limit of combustion vs explosion was set to 20m/s.
Something we smile upon today as we´re closing up on approx 50m/s by the day..and have in mind that those 20m/s was considered the "truth" a mere 20 yrs ago.

What we did was add this;

Which REALLY tamed the entire install down to a pussycat.
Within the rubber insulation of the contact for the IAC motor it turned out to be imperative with a Schotcky diode to get full resolution of the IAC.
But...frankly speaking..most of it was to be found in careful hardcore programing of the system.
I kid you not...it turned this SA install into a car that behaves as a stocker-and in some regards better than stock...while stillr etaining the oumph of the SA..
