Lude:
2: I havent notice any different when starting, but iam using efi, but i dont think KE will notice it either.
4: Have no problem.
The lighter flywheel will make the engine speed up faster, and can also make the engine slow down faster due to reduced rotational mass in the engine
Our engines has also -1120gram less moving internal mass due to custom 11.3:1 pistons, conrods and bearings!
So:
-4,8kg + -1,12kg= -5,92kg compared to a OE 102.990...

Our engine workshop manager how I spoke to when we started to build our "evo .990" engines said:
When you lighten your flywheel you MUST weight balance crankshaft, flywheel, pressure plate together so the engine will not start
to self vibrate on hi-revs, and in the end brake something...
The pressure plate he did some grinding (Schleiferei) to, and made marks in the flywheel and pressure plate wear the two should be placed when assembled back together.
We did even balanced out all pistons and con rods to 0,01g of each other
The crank diden´t need any job at all... it was perfect from mercedes
